High Well School are providing remote learning through the platform Microsoft Teams.  We will also be setting learning on Hegary Maths, White Rose Maths, GCSE Pod, Espresso Phonics, and Oak Academy.  Pupils who are accessing learning from home will be provided with live lessons which they can join as well as recorded lessons if they are not able to join a lesson at a specific time.  Pupils can also have individual lessons if required to support their learning remotely.

All pupils at High Well have a school email address which provides them with access to Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Teams.  Both Office 365 and Teams are web-based so can be accessed from any device which uses the internet including mobile phones, tablets, laptops, desktop computers, XBox 360, XBox One, XBox Series X, PS4 and PS5.  There is information below on how to access both email and Teams from a range of devices.

All pupils accessing remote learning have been provided with stationery packs and supplementary worksheets/lesson activities will be provided on a weekly basis where needed.

Some pupils have been provided with digital devices to use at home and/or internet access through a dongle.  Any families who need support with devices or access to the internet should contact school directly on 01924 572100 or

Below is some information for supporting access to remote learning:

Remote Learning Expectations

The same behaviour expectations apply for remote learning as in school, however the following is a reminder of expectations for remote learning:

  • Arrive at lessons on time
  • Follow instructions given by adults in the lesson
  • Have equipment available (provided by school)
  • Mute when in lessons unless asked to unmute
  • Use the raise hand function to ask for help
  • Use the chat function to answer or ask questions
  • Return completed work to your class team so it can be marked and you receive feedback
  • Keep language appropriate at all times and do not use inappropriate language when speaking or in the chat
  • Do not use the chat function to talk to others about things not related to the lesson/learning
  • Pupils should not be eating lunch etc. during lessons, there are planned breaks in the live lesson offer

If pupils do not adhere to the above expectations, then they may be removed from the remote lesson.  If there are persistent breaches of the above expectations, pupils may be offered 1:1 remote teaching or be given access to recorded lessons instead.

Digital Fatigue

Pupils and parents/carers should be aware that movement breaks are advised between lessons to prevent digital fatigue and pupils should have access to drinks and snack in between lessons.  If pupils are engaging fully with their online timetable then consideration should be given to reducing screen time at other points in the day.
