Below are High Well School's Strategic Priorities for 2019-2021
Quality of Education

- Address the variation in attendance, progress and outcomes for Children in Care (CiC) so their achievement is in line with their peers
- Prioritise reading across the school to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum
- Use Iris Connect to develop pedagogy and share expertise
Behaviour and attitudes
- Further refine systems and processes that seek to engage with hard to reach families so that attendance continues to improve and the number of days lost to learning is reduced
- Reduce the use of fixed term exclusion so the number of days lost to learning is reduced
- Develop the role of the Care Team to identify and implement specific and timely support to pupils requiring intervention for SEMH needs
Personal development
- Evaluate the impact of opportunities for learning outside the classroom and how this prepares pupils for adult life
- Ensure SRE is embedded as part of cohesive PPF curriculum and closely linked with safeguarding
Leadership and management
- Build the capacity of new leaders so they are better able to improve the quality of teaching and ensure all pupils achieve good outcomes
- Provide training for key members of staff in Mental Health First Aid and emotional wellbeing support to provide a layer of support for staff ensuring staff are emotionally resilient to meet the complex needs of pupils.
- Develop leadership capacity to ensure responsibility for improvement is distributed across the school and provide opportunities to grow the next stage of senior leaders
Progress towards achieving the above priorities is monitored by the Leadership Team on a monthly basis and by the Governing Body on a termly basis.
