Uniform
HWS Uniform Expectations
Uniform is an important part of High Well School’s identity as it reinforces who we are in the community and helps allow students to feel pride in their school.
High Well School uniform expectations are as follows:
- Official High Well round neck sweatshirt* (black with school logo) - compulsory
- Official High Well polo shirt/round neck t-shirt* (grey with school logo) - compulsory
- Plain black/navy/grey school trousers or jogging bottoms (logos to be kept to a minimum) or jersey leggings (not sports leggings) or plain black/navy/grey knee length skirt with plain black/navy/grey tights
- Black, sensible school shoes or trainers
- Jewellery and facial piercings should be minimal and should not cause a health and safety risk e.g. during PE or science lessons.
- Pupils can wear coats or jackets of their choosing; they are required to remove these during lesson time and in the dining hall. Coats and jackets will be stored in lockers in pupils’ classroom bases during the school day.
* If you prefer to purchase pupil uniform items from a different supplier (plain grey polo shirts/round neck t-shirts and black round neck sweatshirts), this can be accommodated. Should you choose this option, you will need to contact school, in advance, so as we can arrange for the High Well logo to be added to these.
Pupils are not permitted to wear the following for school:
- combat style trousers
- cycling shorts
- clothes with large logos
- crop tops
- Crocs/flip flops/sliders
- nail extensions of an unnatural length or shape
Should a pupil not arrive at school in uniform, the expectation is that they will wear garments from our uniform bank to conform to the guidelines above.
Please note that reasonable adjustments will be made to High Well School’s uniform expectations based on EHCPs (Education and Health Care Plans) and individual risk assessments.
